Just reading with interest the above about qualifying for carers allowance my husband has been awarded and backdated from August 2013...We are on income related ESA joint claim and although ill in my own right i also care for him does this make a difference and if i was to make my OWN claim for PIP would this affect my claiming to look after him we were awarded after appeal ....................one of the reasons is that i am his appointee.....Although i have my own health issues this does not affect my ability to look after him ..
